Volunteers are critical to a successful season and positive experience for our players and families. Check out the rewarding volunteer roles needed each season.
Head Coaches
In addition to sport specific coaching, the Head Coach is also responsible for the overall management of the team. He/She is directly responsible to the FBGLL Board.
Responsibilities Include:
Foster age-appropriate development
Create a positive learning environment and strive to develop sportsmanship, confidence, discipline, teamwork, and respect
Learn, teach, and respect Little League division rules
Communicate with your team’s families (we recommend using the SportsYou or GroupMe apps)
Keep track of and maintain good condition of league-issued equipment
Assistant Coaches
The Assistant Coach is responsible to the FBGLL Board through the Head Coach. He/She assists in all sport specific coaching and may assume the role of Head Coach in his/her absence.
Specific responsibilities are at the Head Coach’s discretion.
Team Coordinators (also known as Team Mom/Parent)
Each team requires one official Team Coordinator. However, feel welcome to share responsibilities within the team. This role is a crucial one, but it’s also a FUN one!
Responsibilities Include:
Promote positive team spirit amongst parents and players
Assist with keeping team lined up on Picture Day
Organize snack sign-up schedule (younger divisions)
Distribute team uniforms
Distribute team photos
Coordinate team’s required Concession Stand volunteer shifts
Additional Needs
In addition, each team is responsible for filling designated CONCESSION STAND SHIFTS with a team volunteer at least 14 years of age, as well as providing a SCOREBOARD OPERATOR and SCOREBOOK KEEPER when playing as the home team. Fredericksburg Little League provides all training required at no cost for these important roles.
